A neurologist will treat disorders such as: Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, brain tumors, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, headaches, sleep disorders, brain and spinal cord injuries, tremors, epilepsy, pain, peripheral nervous disorders, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
Patients with disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease or Multiple Sclerosis may use a neurologist as their principal care physician. Note that neurologists can recommend surgical treatment, but do not perform surgery. Neurosurgeons specialize in performing surgical treatments of the brain or nervous system.
